I drove hundreds of miles on I-84 right next to a big river/lake/dams/something all along the upper edge of Oregon. I got to admit now that I have seen the mountain passes, I am glad I did not come during snow. It would be impossible to get thru and dangerous. Well thats over!
The Yahoo driving directions worked. Only problem was an exit was closed for construction (yeah always happens) and I had to backtrack a little. Then it started to rain for the last two hours of my drive. Did not bother me but was hard to see signs (spray from cars/trucks) and traffic was heavy, but roads were very good. Jimmy’s neighbor was home for lunch and she let me in and gave me a key. I got a little room with Dish TV and wireless. House is modern manufactured type. I am in the WOODS! There are two dogs and a cat living here, and they all like me! Cow is not without animal companionship.
I finally met Jimmy Neon (James Morris) last evening when he returned from his dentist appointment. I was expecting a dark haired man, maybe with a beard or goatee. Jimmy has all white hair, kind of longish in Donald Trump style.
I want to say that I never met a hearing person more willing to write notes to communicate with me! He went for the pen and paper right from the start. He explained his training and work schedule to me. Jimmy also tried to get my computer connected to the wireless, but he had to make a neon sign delivery (take it over to Seattle on the Ferry) so I told him he best go and I will be ready to begin with him tomorrow.
He seems like a great guy! He made sure I was taken care of, and this morning he dropped off some Neon articles for me to read.
I am looking forward to getting started. Jimmy said once he shows me what to do I can work by myself in the shop next door anytime (practicing on bending glass) and any other stuff.
I am looking forward to starting!

Just read your post, Steve, and it sounds like you’re off to a good start. Hope you enjoy the training, but don’t get too attached to that part of the country. Cliff & Iris
A hearing “scammer” is always willing to write a lot to get money!
