Jimmy took me with him to his bank. I waited away from the line and one of the free tellers called me over. I told her I am with this guy (Jimmy) thanks. The teller (named Diane) heard me voice, then signed and asked me if I was Deaf. I said Yes. Wow, please do sign to me more, Diane.
She was pretty good. She said her husband is Deaf and wore hearing aids, and was considering a Cochlear Implant. I told Diane some of my own Deafness background, etc. about the implant. She in turn told me of a friend’s niece who had the implant but her body rejected the thing in some way. It made her sick for a while. It seems that in time the niece got used to it and really liked the implant!
We chatted a bit more, but since she was at work, we had to cut it short. She told me to come talk to her again if I was around. I said sure.
Small world.

It’s interesting that the teller lady is also LDS. That makes it an even smaller world.
